Pair of Italian Gilt Brackets Modelled as Cherubs

Each is modelled as a gilt cherub with outstretched wings supporting a  shaped calico seashell, they are a true pair, one left and one right. This pair of medium sized gilt wood gesso hand crafted cherubs/putti shelves depict naked and winged male children with their hands lifted up and holding a Calico seashell formed shelf in the air. This pair of wall brackets attracts our attention with its carved cherub figures each supporting a shelf. Their lovely faces are framed by their large wings. With their skillful carving and nice proportions, this 20th century pair of carved wooden brackets will bring a graceful touch to any home, either displaying glass or porcelain ornaments, or plants, or just on their own
