Lese Smear is a multilayered spectral processing plugin designed for spectral morphing, sound shaping, and creative experimentation. It combines a collection of spectral effects in a flexible environment where each frequency band can become its own processing playground.

Unlike conventional time-domain effects that process the entire signal uniformly, Smear converts audio into the frequency domain, allowing individual areas of the spectrum to be processed and manipulated independently. Multiple processors can be layered together, with spectral mixing and modulation providing extensive control over how each effect interacts with the frequency spectrum.

Smear uses Lese’s Factor Band system to define where individual effects operate across the spectrum. Depending on the processor, Factor Bands can also control frequency-specific parameters such as delay time, making it possible to create complex spectral movement and transformations.
