Vintage Iittala Visa Ashtray – Timo Sarpaneva Finland

Vintage Visa glass ashtray designed by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala, Finland. A striking example of Finnish modernist glass design, featuring exceptionally thick clear glass, a smooth rounded rim and a heavily textured, ice-like underside.

The Visa design was produced by Iittala during the latter half of the 20th century and reflects Sarpaneva’s characteristic use of glass texture, weight and light. Its substantial sculptural form also makes it attractive today as a decorative art-glass object, catchall or display piece.
