Capita The Matriarch 2027 – All Mountain Snowboard
Shaped in collaboration with Torstein Horgmo, The Matriarch is a directional cambered all-mountain snowboard built for riders who want to move fluidly between park hits, powder laps, and backcountry terrain. It's a board for the freestyle-minded freerider who refuses to choose one world over the other.
The Matriarch runs on the ALPINE V4 Profile—a traditional camber through the midsection with lower, smoother tip and tail heights and slightly elevated contact points. That geometry, paired with a wide-radius tip shape, makes the board feel lively and poppy underfoot while still floating confidently in soft snow. The construction centers on an ultra-lightweight wood core reinforced with full-length Bamboo Power Beams™, wrapped in the new Hybrid Supercarbon™ Holysheet™ fiberglass and amplified with Fairmat™ recycled aerospace carbon inserts. The base is CAPiTA's sintered Hyperdrive™, built thick for durability and tuned for speed. Flex is 7/10.
Who it's forThe Matriarch suits intermediate to advanced riders who've outgrown the park-only mindset and want a single board that handles sidecountry laps, variable all-mountain conditions, and natural features without missing a beat. The camber gives you the edge control and pop to throw tricks; the forgiving tip and tail shape gives you the confidence to charge unfamiliar terrain.
FAQ- Is The Matriarch good for powder? Yes—the wide-radius tip shape and low tip/tail profile let it float well in soft and variable snow, even though it's not a dedicated powder board.
- Can beginners ride The Matriarch? It's engineered for riders who already have solid carving and edge control; it will reward intermediate and advanced riders far more than those just starting out.
