The North Face GORE-TEX Summit Eastwall 2027 – Shell Pants
The North Face Summit Eastwall is a technical shell pant engineered for serious backcountry skiers and snowboarders who push into exposed, off-piste terrain. Built without insulation to layer freely, it suits riders who generate their own heat and need a high-performance outer layer that keeps pace with demanding mountain objectives.
At its core, a Gore-Tex 3L construction pairs a 165 g/m² triple-layer waterproof-breathable membrane — made from 98% recycled polyester — with articulated patterning that moves with your body rather than against it. High-tenacity reinforcements protect the lower leg from ski-edge abrasion, while DryVent™ double-layer knee panels (250 g/m², 100% recycled nylon) add durability exactly where the mountain demands it. Zippered thigh vents with mesh lining let you regulate temperature on long climbs, and stretch gaiters with a non-slip elastic hem and parachute-cord rivet attachments seal out snow at the boot interface. PFC-free DWR treatment is applied across all fabrics.
Who it's forThis pant is designed for the committed off-piste skier or snowboarder who plans big days in variable, technical conditions. The articulated fit and gaiter system matter most when you're booting up a couloir or riding through deep snow — details that recreational on-piste riders may never need. If you're compatible with the Summit Eastwall GORE-TEX® jacket (jacket attachment point at the rear waist), this pant completes a sealed, integrated system.
FAQ- Is this pant insulated? No — the Summit Eastwall is a shell pant. It's meant to be worn over a mid-layer of your choice, which gives you full control over your warmth level.
- Are the gaiters compatible with any boot? The stretch gaiters include parachute-cord rivet attachments designed to secure to your ski or snowboard boots, and the zipped outer-ankle gusset with snap button accommodates different footwear profiles.
