The Sweet Trade: A Near-Future Crime Novella

Sugar is illegal. Not taxed. Not restricted. Illegal.

Forty years after the Sweetness Restriction Act transformed ordinary sugar into one of the world's most valuable black-market commodities, Marisol makes a living transporting contraband hidden beneath perfectly legal deliveries. She knows the rules: never ask questions, never open the cargo, never trust anyone for too long.

When a routine border crossing spirals into a day of mistakes, surveillance, and impossible choices, Marisol discovers the people she trusted most may be hiding far darker secrets than the cargo she carries.

Blending noir crime with speculative fiction, The Sweet Trade is a tense, cinematic novella about loyalty, corruption, and the price of ordinary comforts in an extraordinary world.
