Something in the Pipes

On the twilight world of Gehem, every drop of produced water is treated, recycled, and reinjected deep beneath the surface.

It was never supposed to come back.

When water-chemistry engineer Dr. Naia Reyes-Fenwick detects an impossible molecular signature inside Meridian-9's reinjection system, everyone assumes it is nothing more than sensor drift. But the anomaly grows.

Pipelines begin changing.

A maintenance technician survives contact with something that should not exist.

Archived reports reveal that the same phenomenon was quietly buried eleven years earlier.

As engineers, physicians, and corporate executives race to contain the crisis, Naia uncovers an unsettling truth:

The organism beneath Meridian-9 is not invading the facility.

The facility has been connected to its home all along.

What begins as an engineering investigation evolves into humanity's most unexpected first-contact event—one that challenges the boundary between biology, intelligence, memory, and responsibility.

Blending rigorous petroleum engineering, realistic reservoir science, psychological suspense, and emotionally driven storytelling, Something in the Pipes is a gripping hard science fiction thriller where the greatest danger is not the unknown beneath the surface—but the institutions determined to ignore it.

Perfect for readers who enjoy intelligent, atmospheric science fiction with authentic engineering and slow-burning cosmic mystery.
