The Last Taxi

Everybody in Tijuana knows a version of the story.

A ride arrives after midnight.

The driver smiles.

The passenger gets in.

The passenger never comes home.

Most people call it an urban legend.

Then the missing-person files start piling up.

When a mysterious envelope arrives containing a photograph of a white Nissan and a strange handwritten journal, reporters, detectives, and city officials find themselves chasing a mystery that stretches across decades.

The journal contains no confession.

No explanation.

Only fragments of an ordinary life mixed with unsettling observations that refuse to leave the reader's mind.
