The 'S' Word: Submission in Marriage

Years of studying women's issues made me a passionate advocate for women - a conviction that hasn't changed. But when God began stirring the word "submission" in my heart, I resisted it - certain I already knew what it meant. Then one night, I dreamt of an enormous, ugly being, brimming with rage, stretching a long whip toward me as I knelt, head bowed to the ground.

Just before the whip came crashing down, my husband's body became a steel-like shield behind me, covering me completely. It kept striking, but not a single blow got through. When I woke, the Holy Spirit clarified that my kneeling represented submission and being under authority; only because I was in that position could my husband fully protect me from harm. This experience marked the beginning of a shift in my long-standing beliefs.

I discovered that submission wasn't about muting my voice, but a divine strategy to protect, empower, and align my life with favour and peace.
