The Last Ride II The Five Stars: The J Family

The world ended years ago.

Jorge survived it.

Now, somewhere in the wilderness of Canada, he has built something he never expected to have again: a home.

He calls it the Five Stars.

It is far from luxurious—two stars would already be generous—but Jorge has transformed the abandoned hotel into a bizarre little kingdom of survival. Fish swim in his ponds, rabbits and foxes roam his carefully built ecosystem, and even the insects have their place. For Jorge, the apocalypse is no longer simply something to endure.

It is something to enjoy.

But the forest has secrets.

When Jorge encounters Rick the Sick, the terrifying leader of the Ancient Widows, he discovers a hidden world beneath the trees. Dressed like dark forest wizards and armed only with weapons of nature, the Ancient Widows have survived by becoming ghosts of the wilderness.

And beneath that wilderness...

something else is alive.

Something ancient.

Something that knows names it should never know.

Something that seems to know Jorge's memories—and perhaps even his future.

As danger closes around the Five Stars, Jorge must decide whether to remain in the home he built or return to the road.
