When my father trespasses on the grounds of a cursed castle, taking his place seems like a sensible solution to our problems, even if the castle's sole occupant is a horrifying creature who refuses to speak with me.

I know that she's worried that if she lets me go, more will follow my father, but if I can get her to trust me, I should be able to convince her that I will be able to tell enough terrible tales of my time here to make sure no one ever dares approach the castle again.
