Manuscript Mayhem: A SHort STory

Summer term is over. The air conditioning is broken. And somewhere on campus, forty years of one man's life has gone missing.

Olivia Little planned to spend her three week break with a paperback and absolutely no responsibilities. Then Professor William Thompson turns up at her office door, gray in the face, to report that the manuscript he has been writing since before Olivia was hired has vanished from a locked room.

Three hundred forty-two pages. No copies. No backup. Nothing else in the office touched.

Olivia has questions. Who leaves a cigar burning on a windowsill and never comes back for it? Why is the screen pushed up on a second floor window? And why does everyone she asks seem to know something they would rather not say out loud?

The answer is hiding somewhere between a rival with an old grudge, a student who runs when she is spotted, and the one building on campus nobody should be walking into alone.

A short, warm cozy mystery set at Spencer University in Picklewood, Ohio.
