Marlowe Bellamy has three problems.

It started with a coffee stain appearing immediately after Marlowe agreed to a terrible second date. Then came the mysterious sleeve snag whenever she tried to flirt with someone who was obviously wrong for her. By the time the sweater mysteriously disappeared from her closet after a particularly disastrous blind date, Marlowe had accepted the horrifying truth:

Unfortunately, the sweater's apparent favorite person is Theo Whitlock—the annoyingly charming owner of the Crooked Acorn Café, professional button-pusher, and the one man Marlowe absolutely refuses to fall for.

Theo thinks the sweater thing is hilarious.

Marlowe thinks Theo is unbearable.

The sweater, apparently, has already made its decision.

As autumn settles over Bellweather Hollow, Marlowe finds herself trapped between pumpkin festivals, nosy neighbors, increasingly suspicious laundry incidents, and a growing attraction she can't explain away. Every attempt to find a sensible boyfriend somehow leads her back to Theo—and every attempt to avoid him seems to make him more impossible to resist.
