No more Roses for my Lali
Some loves disappear. Some are forgotten. And some survive quietly for more than fifty years.
Kerala, 1972.
Joe and Lali are young college students deeply in love, dreaming of a future together. But religious differences, family expectations, and Lali's uncompromising father bring their relationship to an abrupt end. Before she can even complete her education, Lali is married to Thomas, a young naval officer.
Life carries them in opposite directions.
Lali learns to navigate the demanding world of naval life, raises two sons—Peter and Edgar—and becomes a respected wife, mother, cook, and community organizer. Joe completes his education, marries Mary Joe, immigrates to America, raises a family, builds a successful career, and later becomes an entrepreneur.
Decades pass.
