One Minute With God for Young Athletes: 365 Days of Daily Prayer and Spiritual Strength

You wake up to an alarm that feels far too early, pull on your uniform, and head out the door before most of the world has turned on a light. By nightfall you will have run, lifted, pushed, missed, recovered, and tried again, all while balancing homework and family and a hundred small demands. The athlete's life is loud, and prayer can feel like one more thing you do not have time for. But prayer was never meant to be a chore. It is a conversation, and conversations can happen in the walk to the bus, the huddle before the whistle, or the quiet of your room after the lights go down. This book treats one minute as enough, because it is.

Each of the 365 daily readings meets you exactly where you are,. You will find guidance on:
• Identity anchored in God, not in the score
• Calm and composure on game day
• Hope and courage through loss and injury
• Discipline, rest, and boundaries that last
• Teammates, unity, and sportsmanship
• Freedom from comparison and jealousy
• Purpose and perspective beyond the game

This book is written for a young athlete exactly like you, and it is meant to be finished slowly, day by day, the way you build any strength that lasts. You do not need to read several pages or set aside hours. You need only to pause, read slowly, pray honestly, and trust that the God who made your lungs, your legs, and your heart is present in the very moment.

The crowd will cheer and forget you, and the scoreboard will move on, but your worth was never decided by a statistic or a championship. Before you were ever an athlete, you were a child of God, and that is the identity that will never be taken from you. Some days you will come to these pages full of gratitude, and some days you will come bruised and confused. Both are welcome here. There is no script to perform and no score to meet, only you and God, one day at a time, learning that the same strength you chase on the field has been offered to you all along.
