Midwife

A young man dies in the springtide of his life, leaving behind a pregnant wife and an unborn child. In the span of a single breath, his consciousness dissolves and transmigrates across the samsaric ocean.

As the reincarnating soul passes from the tomb into the womb of the Great Midwife, his rebirth unfolds as a sacred pilgrimage. Drawn onwards by time, tide and territory, the embryo finds a mother whose four austere years of tapasya to Lord Shiva have carried her to this precise hour, the two of them arriving at the same shore from opposite directions.
