Calenture: Terraforming, #1

Mars was supposed to wait. Earth did not.

Engineer Calvin Sorensen spent eleven years designing a settlement for Mars before governments decided humanity had more urgent problems at home. The program was shelved, its technology scattered into hospitals, water systems, farms, and power grids.

Then the problems on Earth begin connecting.

Sleeplessness spreads. Violence rises. Hospitals strain. Supply chains fracture. Infrastructure fails faster than it can be repaired, while a mysterious man carrying a cardboard sign becomes an unlikely symbol of a world convinced the end is near.

As civilization loses its ability to trust the systems that keep it alive, Calvin's abandoned Mars architecture becomes something it was never intended to be: a lifeboat.

But Mars has no breathable air, no reliable water supply, and no room for mistakes.

Terraforming: Calenture is Book One of a two-book speculative science-fiction story about planetary survival, engineering, social collapse, human resilience, and what happens when the harder world becomes the safer one.
