The Father Who Comes Running

What kind of God runs toward the child who walked away?
In The Father Who Comes Running, Ezekiel Coal reflects on Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son and the extraordinary picture of the Father found within it. Before the returning son can repair what he has broken, explain himself, or earn his place home, his father sees him in the distance—and runs.
This short Christian reflection explores repentance, grace, shame, and the character of a God who does not reluctantly receive the returning sinner, but moves toward them with compassion.
The Father Who Comes Running is an invitation to reconsider what we believe awaits us when we finally turn toward home.
