The Last Reader: A Novella

The Last Reader is a story about a world in which physical books are disappearing because their contents have already been preserved digitally.

But when every word survives, is the book itself really preserved?

A dedication, a handwritten note, a forgotten bookmark, a stain on a page, the place where someone stopped reading and meant to return — none of these are merely text.

The Last Reader is a novella about memory, books, and the difference between preserving information and preserving what gives it meaning.
