The Goblin
The Goblin
In the drought-stricken village of Manyane, poverty has pushed Mr. Nare to the edge. His fields are barren, his cattle are dying, and his children are going hungry. Desperate to save his family, Nare travels north to Binga in search of the legendary Great One—a healer said to possess the power to change a man's destiny.
But the price of prosperity is more terrible than Nare could ever imagine.
The healer offers him a path to wealth, but it requires the ultimate sacrifice: his beloved son, Mpho. Torn between a father's love and the desperation to save his family, Nare makes a choice that will unleash something that cannot easily be controlled.
On the third night, Mpho is transformed into Stoonkie—a grotesque goblin bound to Nare and driven by an insatiable hunger for wealth, blood, and human life.
Soon, Nare's empty granaries overflow with stolen harvests. His cattle multiply. Silver and gold fill his home. But every miracle carries a terrible price, and Stoonkie's demands grow darker with every passing night.
As Manyane begins to suffer while Nare's fortune grows, villagers become suspicious. What begins as one man's desperate attempt to defeat poverty becomes a nightmare that threatens an entire community.
Years later, the village lies abandoned, its people scattered, while Nare's wealth has grown into something monstrous.
But the curse has not ended.
When an investigative journalist enters the ruins of Manyane searching for the truth, he discovers that some secrets are not meant to be exposed. Soon, the darkness surrounding Nare's fortune begins reaching far beyond the village.
The Goblin is a dark supernatural tale of greed, sacrifice, ancestral power, and redemption—where the greatest price of wealth may not be gold, but the human soul
