Paws Before Promises: WLW (LGBTQ)

When Marielle Hart volunteers at the small‑town rescue shelter, she expects the usual weekend routine: nervous dogs, warm blankets, and the quiet satisfaction of helping animals find second chances. What she doesn't expect is the man who tries to impress her with a flashy donation and a grin—only to be gently turned away.

Minutes later, Constance Ellison, a soft‑spoken veterinarian new to town, walks through the same door carrying a trembling stray puppy wrapped in a towel. Her calm voice, gentle hands, and steady warmth change everything. As Marielle and Constance work together to heal the rescued puppy—soon named Clover—their connection deepens through shared purpose, quiet moments, and the kind of tenderness that grows slowly and beautifully. From morning check‑ins to the bustling adoption fair, each day brings them closer, until Clover becomes the bridge between two women learning to trust their hearts again.

When Constance decides she wants to adopt Clover, she makes a second, softer promise: She doesn't want to raise her alone.
