Chinese Reader The Legend of Dangun: Chinese Graded Readers aimed at Beginner, Simplified Chinese, NEW HSK Standard
The legend of Dangun describes the founding of Korea's first nation, Joseon. Long ago, a bear and a tiger sought to become human. A heavenly god instructed them to stay in a cave for 100 days, eating only garlic and grass while avoiding sunlight. While the tiger quit, the bear persevered and was transformed into a woman. She married the god, and their son, Dangun, established the country. As a wise king, he taught his people to farm and hunt. Today, Koreans commemorate his legacy every year on National Foundation Day.
This book is for all Chinese beginners. I tried to include most of the vocabularies used in the story, along with their English meanings. Wherever possible, I tried to make use of simple grammar structures and avoid the more complicated grammar structures. If you are a beginner in the Chinese language, this is the book for you.
