DEATH AT THE BOOKSHOP: A Cozy Bookstore Mystery

Spring has arrived reluctantly in Maple Creek, Vermont, but the shadows of the past refuse to melt away.

Ten weeks after solving the Christmas café murder, former investigative journalist Clara Bennett is still haunted by the unsolved disappearance of Evelyn Ashford. While trying to focus on running her café, Clara is pulled back into the mystery when Henry Whitmore, the quiet proprietor of Whitmore Books and keeper of the town’s history, fails to open his shop.

A rainy Tuesday turns dangerous when an alarm leads Sheriff Daniel Brooks to find the bookstore empty, the power cut, and the phone lines severed. Clara arrives to find Henry missing and his usually meticulous shop ran sacked. Crucial local history books have vanished, but the intruder left something behind for her: a cryptic note asserting that Evelyn Ashford never left Maple Creek, and a photograph of Evelyn’s long-lost half-brother.

As a storm rages outside, chilling warnings begin appearing on the bookstore windows. With a strange man trailing her every move and the shocking revelation that her own late father may have been involved in the thirty-year-old cold case, Clara must navigate a labyrinth of small-town lies before she becomes the next chapter in Maple Creek's history of disappearances.
