The Bracken Barrel Pants by Brightside Fabric Co. are high-waisted, pull-on woven pants combining everyday comfort with a modern barrel-leg silhouette. Designed with a semi-fitted hip and relaxed curved leg, they feature an elastic waistband, knee darts and ankle-length hem.

View A features contrasting or matching lower leg panels for an additional design detail, while View B has a clean, uninterrupted front leg. Both views include practical side pockets and an optional faux fly detail.

The knee darts help create the distinctive barrel shape and can also be omitted for a simpler silhouette. With no functional zipper or button closure to install, the Bracken Barrel Pants are an approachable project for confident beginners who want to build their pants-making skills.

Waistband Elastic

Use 2" / 50 mm wide elastic. The pattern provides suggested elastic lengths by size, but Brightside Fabric Co. recommends measuring your waist and subtracting approximately 2" / 5 cm to determine your preferred elastic length.
