The Ellsworth PDF sewing pattern by Merchant & Mills is an oversized, boxy shirt with a relaxed contemporary silhouette. Designed with a dropped back hem and half button placket, the Ellsworth has an easy, swingy shape that makes it exceptionally comfortable to wear.

The generous proportions work beautifully in lightweight woven fabrics such as linen, cotton poplin, chambray and Tencel. Choose a fabric with movement and avoid anything too heavy, as the longer back can pull the garment down and make the neckline uncomfortable.

All seam allowances are 1.5 cm (⅝") unless otherwise stated and are included in the pattern.

Important: Avoid fabrics that are too heavy. Because the back of the Ellsworth is longer than the front, a heavy fabric can pull the shirt backwards and make it uncomfortable around the neckline.
