Made in Italy, this 100% cotton yarn-dyed shirting fabric features a sophisticated grey background accented with light pink and purple woven stripes. The combination of soft colours and varied stripe widths gives the fabric a refined look that works beautifully for both classic and contemporary garments.
A closer look reveals subtle woven details within the stripes, including fine herringbone-like textures that add dimension and visual interest to the design. Because the pattern is created through the weave rather than simply printed on the surface, the fabric has the distinctive character associated with yarn-dyed shirting.
At 120 gsm, this Italian cotton is lightweight and comfortable while maintaining enough body for crisp garment details. It is especially well suited to shirts and blouses where you want a lightweight fabric that can still showcase collars, cuffs, button plackets and pockets beautifully.
Yarn-Dyed Woven StripeUnlike a printed stripe, a yarn-dyed fabric is woven using pre-dyed yarns to create the pattern directly within the cloth. This gives the stripes a beautifully integrated appearance and allows the subtle woven textures to become part of the fabric itself.
The grey ground is complemented by alternating light pink and purple stripes, creating a soft colour palette that is distinctive without being difficult to coordinate.
Ideal for Shirts, Blouses & DressesThis lightweight woven cotton is an excellent choice for garments that benefit from breathability, comfort and a clean drape. The classic stripe makes it particularly suitable for shirtmaking, while the softer colour combination offers a fresh alternative to traditional blue-and-white shirting.
The directional pattern also provides plenty of opportunities for creative stripe placement. Pockets, yokes, cuffs, collars and button plackets can be cut on the cross grain or bias to create subtle contrast against the main garment.
Recommended projects:
- Button-up shirts
- Oversized shirts
- Blouses
- Shirt dresses
- Lightweight dresses
- Summer tops
- Pyjama sets
- Lightweight skirts
For best results, use a Universal or Microtex 70/10 needle with lightweight all-purpose thread. When cutting your project, take the stripe placement into consideration at centre fronts, side seams, pockets and yokes if you would like the pattern to match across seams.
We recommend pre-washing the fabric before cutting using the same washing method you plan to use for the finished garment.
Please note: Colors may appear slightly different depending on your screen and lighting conditions.
Due to the different color variations of each monitor and mobile device, we cannot guarantee the color will exactly match what you see online.Looking for a sewing pattern? Browse our PDF sewing patterns for inspiration !
