The Hortense Shirred Skirt Sewing Pattern by Maéli Paris is a feminine, comfortable and beginner-friendly skirt available in both short and long versions.

Its softly shirred elastic waist gently hugs the body without feeling restrictive, while the slightly flared silhouette allows plenty of movement. Delicate satin-stitch finishing along the hems adds a beautiful decorative detail.

Simple and quick to sew, Hortense is an excellent project for discovering shirring and is particularly well suited to lightweight vintage sheets, embroidered tablecloths and other upcycled fabrics.
