The Braemar PDF Sewing Pattern by Merchant & Mills is a chunky pair of paw-like mittens designed for frosty days when it's simply too cold to use your fingers anyway.

With a structured outer fabric, warm lining and ribbed cuff, Braemar is a practical cold-weather accessory that can be made in hard-wearing fabrics such as oilskin, canvas, denim, corduroy or wool coating.

Supplies Required

• Matching thread
• 0.3 m / 1/2 yd outer fabric
• 0.3 m / 1/2 yd lining fabric
• 1 strip of 0.2 m / 1/4 yd ribbing

Rib Stretch

The rib used by Merchant & Mills for this pattern stretches by approximately half again. Test a 10 cm section of your ribbing before cutting. If it stretches to less than 15 cm, cut with a generous 5 cm seam allowance, then pin, tack and try on before final sewing.
