Made in Japan by Sevenberry, this 100% cotton twill features bold, wide stripes in timeless colour combinations. Available in graphic off-white and black or classic white and navy blue, the oversized stripe design creates a striking look for apparel, accessories and creative sewing projects.
Woven from 20s cotton yarn in a durable twill construction, this fabric has the characteristic diagonal weave and substantial hand of cotton twill. At 200 gsm / 5.90 oz/yd², it offers more body and structure than lightweight cotton broadcloth or poplin while remaining versatile enough for a wide range of sewing projects.
The large-scale stripes create a strong graphic effect and offer plenty of possibilities for creative pattern placement. Use the stripes vertically for a classic look, horizontally for a different visual effect, or experiment with contrasting stripe directions on pockets, yokes, waistbands and other design details.

Do I need extra fabric when working with large stripes?
Yes. Purchasing a little extra fabric is recommended if you want to carefully match the stripes across seams, pockets or garment fronts. The amount needed will depend on your sewing pattern and the level of stripe matching you want to achieve.
Can I change the direction of the stripes when cutting my pattern?
Yes, stripe direction can be used as a design feature. However, changing the grain direction can affect how a garment hangs and behaves, so always follow the grainline indicated by your sewing pattern unless you understand how changing it will affect the finished garment.
Is this cotton twill beginner-friendly?
Yes. Its stable woven construction and lack of stretch generally make cotton twill straightforward to cut, press and sew. The main additional challenge with this fabric is matching the large stripes if you want them to align precisely.
What needle should I use?
A Universal needle in size 80/12 or 90/14 is a good starting point for this medium-weight cotton twill. Always test your needle and stitch length on a scrap first.
Due to the different color variations of each monitor and mobile device, we cannot guarantee the color will exactly match what you see online.
