Made in Japan by Sevenberry, this lightweight cotton broadcloth features bold, oversized white polka dots against a classic red or black background. Playful yet timeless, the large-scale dot makes an eye-catching statement while remaining incredibly versatile for both apparel and creative sewing projects.

Part of Sevenberry's signature 88190 collection, this fabric is woven from 100% cotton using a fine 40s broadcloth construction. It is lightweight, smooth and easy to sew, with the crispness and structure characteristic of cotton broadcloth without feeling heavy.

The polka-dot design is produced using a resist-dyeing technique, a distinctive feature of Sevenberry's 88190 polka-dot collection. The result is a clean, high-contrast motif that gives this Japanese cotton its instantly recognizable graphic appearance.

FAQ

Is cotton broadcloth beginner-friendly to sew?
Yes. Cotton broadcloth is generally an excellent choice for beginners because it is stable, does not stretch and is easier to cut, press and sew than slippery or highly fluid fabrics.

What sewing needle should I use?
A Universal needle in approximately size 70/10 or 80/12 is a good starting point for this lightweight cotton broadcloth. Always test your needle and stitch length on a scrap before beginning your project.

Will the large polka dots require pattern matching?
Pattern matching is optional, but it can create a more polished result on garments with prominent centre-front seams, pockets or other highly visible seam lines. Purchasing a little extra fabric is recommended if precise motif placement or matching is important to your project.

Due to the different color variations of each monitor and mobile device, we cannot guarantee the color will exactly match what you see online.
