For winter wear, sew it in substantial wool, fleece or sweatshirt jersey. Waxed cotton or waxed linen transforms it into a practical rain garment, while lightweight double gauze or cotton voile creates an airy beach or sun cover-up. Pockets add extra practicality and a cosy place to keep your hands.
