The 201 Prairie Dress by Folkwear is inspired by the practical, full housedresses worn by women on the 19th-century American prairie. Designed with generous gathers and a gracefully rounded yoke, this flowing dress combines historical details with a comfortable silhouette that also works beautifully for contemporary wear.

The dress features long sleeves gathered at the shoulders and into buttoned cuffs, a ruffled collar set into a collar band, and practical pockets in both side seams. A deep front opening typical of the era closes with buttons at the yoke, with hooks and eyes used to secure the longer portion of the opening.

The pattern also includes a traditional flounced apron with two keyhole pockets and a waistband that buttons at the back. Decorative feather stitch instructions and vintage-inspired finishing techniques are included.
