This distinctive textured polyester felt fabric features an elaborate raised black cord design secured to a black felt base with fine contrasting stitches. Made from 100% polyester, this Québec designer deadstock textile combines substantial body with an exceptionally dimensional surface.
The looping black cord creates an abstract, free-flowing pattern across the fabric, while the fine contrasting stitches highlight the contours of the design. The result is a richly textured black-on-black surface with subtle contrast and a handcrafted, embroidered-inspired appearance.
At 355 gsm, this heavyweight polyester felt offers substantial body and structure while still forming sculptural folds. It is particularly well suited to statement garments where the texture of the textile can become a central part of the design.
Use it for statement jackets, structured vests, capes, skirts and special occasion garments. Simple silhouettes are especially effective with this fabric, allowing the raised cord design and contrasting stitching to remain the focal point.
Part of our designer deadstock selection, this fabric is available in limited quantities. Once the remaining stock is sold, this exact textile may not be available again.

What is this fabric made from?
This fabric is 100% polyester. The composition has been confirmed by the supplier.
What creates the raised texture?
Black decorative cord is arranged in an abstract looping design across the surface and secured with fine contrasting stitches. This creates the distinctive raised, three-dimensional appearance of the fabric.
Is this fabric suitable for jackets?
Yes. At 355 gsm, this heavyweight polyester felt has substantial body and is particularly well suited to statement jackets, structured jackets and sleeveless outerwear. A lining is recommended for a comfortable and polished interior finish.
Is this fabric suitable for a cape?
Yes. Its substantial body and sculptural drape make it an excellent option for capes and capelets. A relatively simple cape pattern will also allow the dimensional surface design to remain prominent.
Does this felt fray?
Felt is generally less prone to fraying than a traditional woven fabric. However, because this fabric has a dimensional cord embellishment, additional care should be taken when cutting and sewing around the decorative surface.
Does this fabric have stretch?
No. This fabric does not have significant stretch.
Will this fabric be restocked?
Designer deadstock fabrics are available only in limited quantities. Once the remaining stock is sold, the same fabric may not be available again.
