The 117 Croatian Shirt sewing pattern by Folkwear is inspired by the traditional tucked linen shirts worn by peasants, farmers and shepherds in the Pannonian Basin. Simple straight lines, detailed tucking and tailored elements create an elegant garment that can be sewn as either a thigh-length shirt or a low-calf dress.

The shirt is constructed from straight fabric panels with decorative tucks at the front and pleats worked into the shoulder yoke at both the front and back. The sleeves feature underarm gussets and are pleated into shaped cuffs, while a notched collar adds a more tailored finish.

The front features a self-placket and button closure. The shirt can be worn loose, tucked into trousers or belted, while the longer dress version offers an elegant alternative for women.

The pattern also includes historical information and instructions for special decorative tucking techniques inspired by the original Croatian garments.
