A beautiful Italian braided knit jacquard from Canadian designer Nadya Toto, sourced as limited designer deadstock. This substantial white knit features a sophisticated tonal jacquard design with raised braided and cable-inspired motifs worked directly into the fabric.

The all-white palette allows the texture to take centre stage. Alternating areas of intricate raised motifs and finer knitted texture create subtle dimension without the need for contrasting colours or prints. The result is a refined fabric that combines the visual interest of a traditional cable knit with the more polished structure of a jacquard.

At 310 gsm, this is a substantial knit with enough body for garments that benefit from structure while retaining the comfort and flexibility of a knitted fabric. The addition of 4% elastane provides extra give and ease of movement.

Made in Italy and originally sourced from Nadya Toto, this fabric is part of our designer deadstock collection. Quantities are limited, and once this fabric is sold out, the same textile may not be available again.

Care

We recommend gentle care to preserve the raised jacquard texture and elasticity of this designer deadstock fabric. Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Lay flat to dry to help maintain the fabric's shape and texture. If pressing is necessary, use low heat from the reverse side and avoid flattening the raised motifs. Always test washing and pressing on a small swatch first.

FAQ

What is a braided knit jacquard?
This fabric uses a knitted jacquard construction to create raised, tonal motifs that resemble braided or cable-knit textures. The design is created through the structure of the knit rather than being printed onto the surface.

Is this a sweater knit?
It has the textured appearance associated with a sweater or cable knit, but its jacquard construction gives it a more structured and polished character. It can be used for sweaters as well as dresses, skirts, jackets and other structured knit garments.

Does this fabric stretch?
As a knitted fabric containing 4% elastane, it has flexibility and give. Stretch can vary depending on direction and construction, so we recommend testing the fabric before choosing sizing or negative ease for a fitted pattern.

Is this fabric suitable for dresses?
Yes. Its substantial 310 gsm weight and knitted construction make it particularly interesting for fitted, semi-fitted and structured knit dresses.

What does designer deadstock mean?
Designer deadstock consists of unused fabric remaining from a designer's inventory or fashion production. Quantities are limited, and the same fabric may not be available again after it sells out.

Where was this fabric made?
This fabric was made in Italy and comes from Canadian designer Nadya Toto's deadstock inventory.
