The Tailor's Tool Roll by Merchant & Mills is a versatile organizer designed to keep sewing tools, art supplies, gardening tools or everyday essentials neatly stored and easy to carry. Featuring 15 assorted pockets, it offers plenty of space for scissors, needles, measuring tools, notebooks and more.

The pattern includes two practical variations. Sew it as a classic roll-up tool holder or adapt it to be worn around the waist as a tool apron. Leather or webbing can be used for the inner reinforcement and ties, allowing you to customize the finished piece to suit your needs and style.

If using leather for the inner support, choose a lightweight leather such as goatskin to avoid excessive bulk.

Supplies Required

• Matching sewing thread
• Flat elastic: 11 cm × 0.5 cm

View 1 – Tool Apron

• Self-fabric waist ties included in the pattern
• Optional replacement: 2 m of 25 mm cotton tape

View 2 – Tool Roll

• Leather or webbing tie: 1.5 cm × 28 cm

Both Views

• Optional leather or webbing reinforcing strip: 5 cm × 61 cm

Fabric Requirements

• 110–120 cm wide: 1.6 m
• 140 cm wide: 1.1 m
• 150 cm wide: 1.05 m for the tool roll or 1.1 m for the tool apron

Increase the fabric quantity if you plan to lengthen the waist ties.
