The Dunes Pack by Dress Your Body includes the original Dune dress plus two new designs that can be styled in many different ways. Staying true to the Dune aesthetic, the new versions feature dropped sleeves and a slightly less full bust, making them easier to wear with a jacket or coat.

With long dress, short dress and top options, plus different collar finishes, this pattern offers endless possibilities for creating oversized, stylish and comfortable garments.

The 3 Dunes Designs

• Model 1: The original Dune dress, known for its beautiful fullness and sleeveless construction. Available as a long dress only.
• Model 2: A loose-fitting shirt dress with a more fitted bust, front button placket and dropped sleeves. Can be made as a long dress, short dress or top.
• Model 3: The most fitted version, cinched below the bust with front and back casings. No collar or front button placket, with a bias-bound neckline. Can be made as a long dress, short dress or top.

Collar Options

Models 1 and 2 can be sewn with three different collar styles:

• Stand-up / funnel collar
• Classic shirt collar
• Mandarin collar

Please note: Model 3 does not include a collar.

The fullness of the Dunes designs is best suited to lightweight fabrics, but they do not need to be very fluid.

• Long dress: XS-S: 360 cm / M: 400 cm / L-XL: 430 cm

Model 2

• Long dress: XS-S: 350 cm / M: 350 cm / L-XL: 380 cm
• Short dress: XS-S: 230 cm / M: 260 cm / L-XL: 270 cm
• Top: XS-S: 180 cm / M: 190 cm / L-XL: 200 cm

Model 3

• Long dress: XS-S: 330 cm / M: 350 cm / L-XL: 370 cm
• Short dress: XS-S: 220 cm / M: 240 cm / L-XL: 250 cm
• Top: XS-S: 160 cm / M: 180 cm / L-XL: 200 cm

Supplies Needed

Models 1 and 2

• Fusible interfacing for cuffs, collar and button plackets
• Long dress version: 10 buttons
• Short dress version: 10 buttons
• Top version: 7 buttons
• Matching sewing thread

Model 3

• 1 button for the back closure
• 2 cords or ribbons, each 1.5 m long, for the front and back casings
• 4 cord stoppers
• 50 cm bias binding
• Matching sewing thread

Sizing Information

The Dunes designs are intentionally oversized and are meant to be worn with plenty of ease. If you prefer a slightly more fitted look, you may choose one size smaller than your usual size. However, since the neckline and sleeves are fitted according to the pattern size, make sure to transfer the neckline measurement from your actual size to the chosen size.

Models 2 and 3

Printing Tips

Print the test square before printing the complete pattern and make sure your printer is set to 100% scale or Actual Size. Adobe Acrobat Reader is recommended for the most accurate results.
