The Valo sewing pattern includes two versatile variations: a midi dress and a relaxed-fit top. Both feature a distinctive heart-shaped yoke, a scoop neckline at the front, and an elegant V-neckline at the back.

The dress includes an elastic waist, large patch pockets, and a beautifully shaped skirt with a flat-felled hip seam detail. The top features a gathered drawstring waist and a relaxed silhouette. Sleeve options can be mixed between the two views for even more customization possibilities.

Recommended Fabrics

Choose medium-weight woven fabrics such as:

• Linen
• Linen blends
• Cotton woven fabrics
• Other medium-weight non-stretch fabrics

For a unique look, consider using a contrasting fabric or the reverse side of your fabric for the yoke.

• Medium-weight woven fabric
• Interfacing: 40 cm (1/2 yd)
• Dress version:
  • 4 cm (1 5/8") ribbon for casing: 165 cm (2 yd)
  • 3 cm (1 1/8") elastic equal to waist measurement
• Top version:
  • 2 cm (3/4") ribbon for casing: 165 cm (2 yd)
  • Ribbon or cord: waist measurement + 70 cm (3/4 yd)
  • 2 cord ends
• Sewing thread
