The Arctic Stretch 3-ply waterproof technical fabric is designed for sewing rainwear, outdoor jackets, technical shells, ski and snowboard garments, bags and accessories. Its laminated construction combines an outer face, waterproof PTFE membrane and integrated polyester backing in one lightweight technical fabric.

Waterproof, breathable and windproof, Arctic Stretch features a durable water-repellent surface treatment that helps water bead and roll away from the fabric. The breathable membrane allows moisture vapour to escape while helping prevent external moisture and wind from passing through.

At 180 gsm with slight one-way stretch, this fabric provides flexibility and freedom of movement without the bulk of heavier waterproof materials.

Sewing Recommendations

• Use a new Microtex needle in size 80/12 or 90/14.
• Use high-quality polyester thread.
• Avoid pins when possible because they create permanent holes in the membrane.
• Use sewing clips or place pins within the seam allowance.
• Use a slightly longer stitch length.
• Use seam-sealing tape when a fully waterproof finished garment is required.
• A walking foot or Teflon foot may help the laminated fabric feed evenly.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C / 105°F.
• Use a small amount of liquid detergent and rinse thoroughly.
• Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
• Tumble dry on a warm, gentle cycle or line dry.
• Avoid excessive heat.
• Reapply a compatible durable water-repellent treatment if water no longer beads effectively.
