The 119 Sarouelles sewing pattern by Folkwear includes three distinctive pants styles inspired by traditional garments from Turkey, Africa and India. Designed for comfort and freedom of movement, each view offers a different flowing or tapered silhouette with adjustable drawstring details.

View A – Turkish Pants are full and flowing, with generous volume gathered into a drawstring waist and elastic or drawstring cuffs at the ankles.

View B – African Sarouelles feature a simple drawstring waist, tapered legs and inseam gussets for excellent freedom of movement. This relaxed style is suitable for both men and women.

View C – Indian Pants feature legs gathered above the thighs into a wide hip panel that rises to a drawstring waist. Shaped cuffs finish the ankles and can be embellished with traditional machine embroidery.

The pattern also includes historical information, embroidery techniques and four traditional embroidery designs for customizing the Indian Pants.
