Biblical Commentaries - Epistles of James and Peter, First Epistle of John and Epistle of Jude

James, Peter, 1 John and Jude – John Calvin

In this volume of his Biblical Commentaries, John Calvin offers an in-depth reading of the epistles of James, Peter, John, and Jude. With the rigor and clarity that characterize his work as an exegete, he explores the meaning of the biblical text while highlighting the essential teachings for faith and the Christian life.

These epistles address particularly concrete themes: faith manifested in works, perseverance in trials, holiness, brotherly love, vigilance against false teachings, and the believer's hope. Calvin thus seeks to show how the teachings of the apostles can be understood and lived out in daily life.

A valuable commentary for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the general epistles and discover their theological and practical richness through the perspective of a great theologian of the Reformation.
