Vitaly Bianchi: About Mishka and the Little Ant

Books about animals have forever inscribed Vitaly Bianki's name into world literature. Life for the small inhabitants of the forest is not easy. Having found himself far from home, the Little Ant must return to his native anthill before sunset. Young Bank Swallow got carried away playing tag and also lost her home. It is a good thing that the Caterpillar, the Oriole, and other helpful insects and birds helped them. But not everyone can be trusted. Chik the Sparrow paid the price for his overconfidence and gullibility when he decided to build a nest in the shed, right under the nose of the Ginger Cat. Mishka-Bashka also miscalculated his strength, even though he thought he could easily handle the swallows. All the young residents of the forest have much to learn about the big world, to master the laws of nature, and to learn to distinguish friends from foes.
