Steinberg Padshop 2 is a powerful granular and spectral synthesizer designed for transforming samples into entirely new instruments, evolving textures and cinematic soundscapes. It combines two complementary synthesis engines: a granular oscillator for breaking audio into microscopic grains and a spectral oscillator for manipulating the frequency structure of a sample independently of conventional playback.
Users can import their own audio or work with the extensive factory sample library, then reshape sounds using parameters such as playback position, speed, direction, pitch, Purity and Inharmonicity. Padshop 2 also includes an advanced modulation section, polyphonic LFOs, filters, layer-based effects and a programmable arpeggiator capable of exporting patterns to a DAW.
