Steinberg Tales
Steinberg Tales
Steinberg Tales is a cinematic guitar instrument built around a rare handcrafted nylon-string concert guitar recorded using an unusual open-tuning sampling technique. Instead of fretting every sampled pitch conventionally, individual strings were retuned and recorded as open strings, capturing a particularly pure attack and long, natural sustain.
The guitar provides four main articulations and can be layered with more than 60 specially designed textures. These additional sound sources use sampled instruments, orchestral material, hardware sources and HALion synthesis technologies including FM, granular and wavetable synthesis, allowing Tales to move easily between realistic guitar performances and atmospheric hybrid sound design.
