WMD Fracture Multi-Particle Percussion Synthesizer
WMD Fracture is an 8HP Eurorack percussion synthesizer built around a proprietary multi-particle synthesis engine inspired by audience applause, classic analog clap circuits, hip-hop samples and vintage drum machines. Instead of relying on a single synthesized noise source, Fracture uses specially recorded micro-samples including claps, finger snaps, ping-pong balls and other short impulses, then plays groups of related samples in pseudo-random combinations to create organic variations on every hit.
Density, Decay and Tail controls determine how many virtual sound sources are triggered, how tightly they occur together and how the resulting percussion evolves over time. This allows Fracture to move from tight electronic claps and dry percussive hits to loose ensemble textures, noisy bursts and full crowd-like applause.
Two trigger inputs provide access to different sound behaviors, while three filter types and three envelope shapes offer additional tonal control. Built-in Hall and Room reverb can add anything from subtle space to large ambient tails. Fracture can also operate in a free-running voltage-controlled mode for continuously evolving applause and granular percussion textures. CV inputs are available for all major parameters, making the module highly responsive to modulation and generative patching.
