Befaco Pony VCF DIY Lowpass Filter/VCA/Mixer Kit
Build a compact analog tone-shaping module that combines a four-pole low-pass filter, voltage-controlled amplifier, and three-channel mixer. Pony VCF is built around the SSI2144 FATKEYS chip and uses an improved ladder topology to deliver the character of a classic transistor filter with improved stability and reduced unwanted distortion.
Three audio inputs allow multiple sources to be combined before entering the filter. The output is normalized back to the third input, making feedback patches possible without additional modules. Two cutoff CV inputs provide flexible modulation, while the first CV input can control either the filter cutoff alone or both cutoff and output level.
Voltage-controlled resonance, temperature-compensated frequency and Q, and resonance volume compensation help maintain a consistent response across a broad range of settings. A two-segment peak meter provides quick visual level monitoring.
