Dr Scientist Dungeon Crawler - FET Distortion Pedal

The Dungeon Crawler is a FET-based distortion pedal built around three MOSFET amplifier stages, delivering an amp-like gain structure capable of taking a clean amp from overdrive all the way to extreme death-metal distortion.

With tons of gain, aggressive pick attack, deep EQ controls, a clean blend, and a custom noise gate, the Dungeon Crawler is designed for crushing, highly saturated tones while remaining highly responsive and versatile.

A second footswitch activates Boost mode, increasing both gain and volume for an extra push. The circuit also features a Grind control, blending in a harsher, meaner tone through a silicon NPN transistor rectifier stage. Its gyrator-based EQ provides powerful frequency shaping, with nods to classic extreme-metal circuits such as the HM2 and FZ2.

The Dungeon Crawler also includes power supply protection, film capacitors throughout the signal path, relay-based switching with state memory, and unique yellow LED torch lights that flicker red in response to the input signal.

After a year of development, the Dungeon Crawler is a love letter to extreme heavy-metal tones.
