Vox AC4 Hand-Wired 4W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp

The VOX AC4 Hand-Wired AC4HWR1 is a 4W all-tube combo that recreates the character and response of the original ’60s AC4 in a compact format. Hand-wired circuitry, a custom-wound output transformer, and a redesigned power circuit deliver the harmonic complexity, natural compression, and vintage-style voltage sag associated with larger VOX amplifiers.

Unlike a typical single-ended 4W amplifier, the AC4 Hand-Wired incorporates a phase inverter stage to produce push-pull-style harmonics and a more open, dynamic response. Its single EL84 power tube drives a 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speaker, housed in a resonant 9mm birch-ply cabinet based on vintage AC4 construction.

The Top Boost channel provides the classic VOX chime and drive, with separate Treble, Bass, and Volume controls. A FET-driven spring reverb adds ambience while maintaining clarity, and the transparent FET-buffered effects loop allows modulation and time-based effects to be integrated without significantly altering the amp's core tone.
