Days Of Yore Active Matrix Mixer - Steel Edition

Days Of Yore Active Matrix Mixer - Steel Edition.

The Days of Yore Audio Active Matrix Mixer is a 5x5 matrix mixer designed for complex signal routing, feedback loops, signal splitting, and experimental audio setups. It combines the flexible routing architecture of a passive matrix mixer with active preamps and buffered outputs for increased gain, headroom, and signal integrity.

Each of the five inputs features an NE553x-based preamp with up to 19 dB of gain. The center-detent controls provide 0 to +19 dB of gain in either direction, with the reverse direction providing phase inversion. The center position mutes the input. The preamps boost signals before they pass through the matrix's passive attenuation, helping maintain headroom and minimize noise.

The five outputs are buffered with NE553x op-amps, providing reliable signal integrity and at least +6 dB of output headroom when the input preamps are fully boosted. The Active Matrix Mixer is suitable for routing instruments through multiple effects chains, creating feedback networks, or combining modular and other electronic audio signals.
