The Universal Audio Volt 1 Gen 2 is a compact 2-in/2-out USB audio interface designed to deliver professional recording quality in a simple, portable format. With 32-bit / 192 kHz audio conversion, a Tone Shaping Preamp, and dedicated mic/line and Hi-Z inputs, Volt 1 is well suited for recording vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, podcasts, and other sources at home or on the go.

The Tone Shaping Preamp provides up to 60 dB of gain and three selectable character modes—Warmth, Focus, and Shine—allowing you to give your recordings different analog-inspired tonal characteristics. The microphone input includes switchable 48V phantom power for condenser microphones, while the front-panel Hi-Z input provides a direct connection for guitar and bass.

Volt 1 Gen 2 is USB bus-powered and class-compliant, making it easy to use with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone. A built-in loopback function also makes it useful for podcasting, livestreaming, and content creation by allowing computer audio to be combined with live inputs. It includes LUNA and a collection of UAD plug-ins and instruments for recording and production.
